Individual, group counseling, and other services.
The most important thing to process about anxiety and depression is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You are not broken, damaged, or otherwise defective. Anxiety and depression can cause you to feel more isolated, defective and helpless. While no one can "white knuckle" their way out of anxiety and/or depression, with help, it does not have to control your life.
What to expect when working with a FLC Therapist
Full Life Counseling nor any staff or affiliates discriminates or gives preference to individuals or groups based upon age, ability, race, ethnicity, gender or gender identity, affectional orientation, religious or spiritual practice(s), socioeconomic status, employment status, citizenship, or background. We aim to meet you where you are and to understand your experience(s) so that we can learn how to most effectively support you toward the achievement of your treatment goal(s).
Every Therapist is different - we are humans first, so all of our personalities are as different as we are. We may have some similarities in our training backgrounds and we may differ in our delivery style. We use evidence based approaches (meaning they are proven to be effective) and we also know that therapy works if you work it. We expect that clients practice skills in all relevant contexts - no matter how many skills you are taught in counseling, if you do not practice them, you will not experience positive changes.
We will be honest with you, we will "push back" and/or challenge you as needed. Therapy will always be safe and it will also sometimes be uncomfortable because growth isn't comfortable. Therapists may prescribe "homework" to clients and we expect that you will follow through with the "assignments" of skills practice on a consistent basis to achieve the best results from our work together.
If we find that we are not the best fit for you, we welcome that feedback and are happy to provide referrals for other providers. If a client is not compliant with treatment, we will first provide feedback, attempt to problem-solve. In the event that there is no improvement with treatment compliance, we may opt to discharge the client with referrals.
